Sisters and Brothers,

Greetings, in Jesus’ Name.

As I write this message (23 June 2025) the news headlines report on the bombings between Israel and Iran, and how things are escalating. Focus was given towards peace talks, only a week ago. American have stated that they will give Iran two weeks for a response. A few days later America sent their jets to bomb Iran. What is happening! Are we able to believe the government officials who are leading the nations? Where is the saying ‘My word is my bond’.

America is still sited as a Christian nation. Where are the Christian values. I encourage each of you to let your yes be yes and your no be no. Let others see who you are and in whom you believe.

As we move into the month of July and August, we now say good bye to the longest day of the year (on the 21 June in the United Kingdom) and slowly recognise that the days are now becoming shorter. Night is gradually coming earlier and earlier; little by little.

We remember all of our young people who have recently completed their exams, and are now awaiting the results. These can be very nervous times of waiting. How are you supporting the young people as they wait? How can you speak calm and patience into their wait?

During the month of July and August, a number of our congregation members are planning to taking holidays. Taking a break from the normal activities of daily life.

Taking the opportunity to visit family, friends or places of interest. Taking the opportunity to spend some time in a warm country where the weather should be constantly warm.

Our Church is planning a visit to Leigh on Sea, in Essex on Saturday 26th July sign up and be part of the experience.

Our Natural Church Development (NCD) champion is Sr Heather A. If you have any ideas to strengthen our fellowship or to spread the gospel, please use the suggestion box in the Church or speak directly to Sr Heather A.

We also remember in prayer our brothers and sisters, especially those who have lost their loved ones. May God’s comfort and, strengthen all who mourn.

Do you remember the hymn below, (vv 1 and 4):

Summer suns are glowing, over land and sea, happy light is flowing, bountiful and free.

Everything rejoices, in the mellow rays, all earth’s thousand voices, swell the psalm of praise.

We will never doubt thee, though thou veil thy light: life is dark without thee; death with thee is bright.

Light of Light! shine o’er us, on our pilgrim way, go thou still before us, to the endless day.

Revd. Edwin.
