Sisters and Brothers,

Greetings, are sent to all our readers, in Jesus’ name.

A time for you to reflect on your Lent promises and commitments. How have your done over the Lent period, did you fully achieve? Did you feel nearer to God?

As we move into the month of May, we see the longer days and shorter nights. We also put away our winter clothes as we seek to welcome the sunshine and the wonderful colours of spring. The weather is definitely getting warmer. We are very much drawn to the outdoor, with walks, runs and much more.

The outdoors becomes a space to be enjoyed. The signs of spring, lifts our mood, as we acknowledge the of trees swaying in the wind, with their leaves rustling as spring takes hold. The flowers likewise are beginning to bloom. Are you planning to visit a garden or park near you, to take in the beauty of nature. Have you commenced work on your garden? Have you commenced work on your allotment or kitchen garden? Whatever you do, do it in the joy of our Lord.

Do you remember the hymn below:

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small.

All things wise and wonderful, the Lord God mad them all.

He gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell;

How great is God almighty, who has made all things well…

Pentecost, Whitsun or Whit Sunday, are different words for the same celebration. This event is celebrated fifty days after Easter as we remember the Holy Spirit coming upon the first disciples after Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday. Ask God to fill you anew, with the power of the Holy Spirit to enable you to work in God’s strength.

Our Natural Church Development (NCD) champion is Sr Heather A. If you have any ideas to strengthen our fellowship or to spread the gospel, please use the suggestion box in the Church or speak directly to Sr Heather A.

When was the last time that you invited someone to come to Church with you? When was the last time that you prayed for your neighbours? When was the last time that you invited your children or grandchildren to Church? Take up the challenge. We need to sharpen ourselves to build the Kingdom of God.

Easter greetings are sent to the Church from the Moravian Church Provincial Board, from Sr Joy Martin and, Sr Comfort Henry.

We also remember in prayer, all those who have lost their loved ones. We ask for God’s comfort, strength and peace for all who mourn.

Revd. Edwin.
